Woman launches campaign to support veterans
Nicole Van Eden is looking for New Hampshire veterans who may be interested in starting their own business.
The Chester native and Pinkerton Academy graduate is the president and founder of Onpoint Media and is launching USA Website Xpress to give veterans the ability to start a business with no financial risk involved. Veterans will be able to market free websites to local businesses and will benefit financially through the sale of monthly web hosting.
Onpoint was launched about 10 years ago in Beverly, Mass., Van Eden said.
She hails from a family of veterans, including her father, a Vietnam War veteran and a grandfather who fought in World War II. Growing up so close to veterans gave her an appreciation for the men and women who serve the country.
“My father never really spoke to me much about his experiences but I did lots of research about what serve members went through,” Van Eden said. “I think all American can appreciate that veterans still get the short end of the stick on multiple levels. I decided as a citizen I could do more for the men and women who gave so much. That’s why I created this idea.”
Van Eden added all anyone has to do is watch the nightly news or read a newspaper to see that today’s veterans are often “under siege” and underappreciated.
“I wanted to do something to help these heroes after they came home, I decided to give veterans hope by providing them an opportunity to work on something positive,” she said.
Van Eden’s project gives veterans an opportunity to start a business without any financial risk. All a veteran has to do is tell business people in their area they can help them out with a free website.
“That’s it,” she said. “This is not a multi-level marketing scheme, there is no catch, no gimmicks, no inventory or products to purchase. The veteran doesn’t have to sell the website or build it. They just have to have the ability to talk to their neighbors.”
Van Eden said her USA Website Xpress campaign will afford any Granite State veteran the chance to start his or her own business.
“Who better deserves a piece of the American Dream than those who fought to preserve it?” she said. “The USA Website Xpress campaign is a no-risk way for veterans to get a leg up financially for them and their families. I cannot think of a better group to help.”
